KS StarrGazer Gold is a cross between a White Thai and StarrRacha Hornet.  The result is a beautiful variety that produces gold pods, but will eventually mature to a deep red color.  The young pods start out as a light green color and will slow transition into its gold tone.  With enough sun hitting the pods directly, they will blush a purple tone, very similar to the original parent, the White Thai.  The flavor is described as being hotter than a Thai pepper, with a much nicer sweet, tropical aroma.  There are very few seeds on the inside making this variety an excellent choice for eating raw or cooking.
