Description
This purple herb has very similar culinary uses as its cousin the Sweet Basil. You will often see this used to flavor sauces, Pesto or on top of Pizza. The purple leaves make them very attractive as ornamental plants. They are very aromatic and has a minty flavor. Under different conditions, the color of leaves will change slightly. If they are grown under full sun, the purple will not be as pronounced and they will have shades of green in the leaves. They are extremely easy to grow and will produce very well. To encourage more growth, pruning is recommended. Pinch off all buds as soon as you see them form.
