Description

Very popular in Japan, Shishito peppers have a unique flavor. They are sweet, mild, and have an earthy/smoky flavor very similar to Padron peppers. You will find about 1 in 10 of them to be spicy so be careful! They have thin walls and fruit grow to 3-4" long. The plant is a prolific producer and needs staking as it has a spreading habit with many fruit weighing down branches.

It's best to cook these peppers and eat them green. The most common way of cooking, is simply roasting the peppers in a hot skillet to blister them and serve with soy sauce or salt and pepper.
