Description
Ground cherry is a small golden fruit enclosed in a husk, similar to a tomatillo. It's very sweet and has a hint of pineapple flavor. The plant grows short, span very wide and produce many fruits. Once ripen, the fruits will fall to the ground. Collect them and place them in a basket at room temperature and allow them to turn to a more golden color. They are great in salads, jam or eat them like a berry.

What are the cons? Aphids love them
Review:I grew two ground cherry plants this year and wish I had grown more. They are very easy to maintain and can grow in small or large pots. Since the plant does not need alot of space, you can plant them pretty close, about 2 feet apart. They produce well and very quick. The fruits are amazing, very sweet and they remind me of mango and pineapple. Since they are so delicious and small, I can literally eat 50 of these in one sitting.
