This is a very beautiful and large lettuce type. The name pretty much explains their looks. They are in the the chicory family and has a frizzy texture. The outer leaves are usually dark green and the inner leaves tend to be a little whiter. They taste a bit bitter, but are excellent when mixed with other lettuce and dressing.
